I am in love with my new phone, the one I have not yet bought, it has everything I want and more. The phone I have at the moment, an iphone 3G, was amazing when I first got it almost 2 years ago and it has allowed me to carry my work out in a way that I had never imagined before, but, in the past year I have become rather disillusioned by Apple and its attitudes. I really feel that Google are positioning themselves to take over the portable phone market with their devices at the expense of Apple and to that I say Hallelujah.
In the meantime, and until my current contract with T-mobile expires in January, I am just looking at whats out there and although I could get a new phone with features Steve Jobs has wet dreams about I realised that I actually I enjoy the anticipation and the hunt of the new phone much more then the actual purchase. there are some real cool blogs out there and the information is just amazing so I decided to get the streams from some of my favourite sites into a single site which is in fact a glorified RSS reader. Since I did all this, I thought, well, let’s share it with others and here we are, enjoy!
Long overdue update to this page but the good news is that I finally went for the HTC Desire HD. In the beginning I faced the usual struggle one has with any new phone of a different brand where all the keys are in different places and what came natural now seems to require 14 fingers to accomplish. Well, this phase lasted about a month for me. Mainly because my particular phone every so often “loses” the memory card or the sim card. it just comes up with the message that either card is no longer accessible and until I got the hang of that, I had to re-install 4-5 times. Anyway, nowadays this is a rare occurance and I love the phone. I am often asked by people which I would reccomend, a Droid phone or an iPhone. I think in terms of a trouble free user experience I would reccomend the iPhone, but if you want to live outside the box and you do not need someone to hold your hand every step of the way, then Android it has to be. Of course I know there are other systems out there for which I can not speak and I would certainly like to play with but unless someone finances that for me, I am not likely to be doing it very often
